Who we are
The Njoh Foundation was born from the desire to make people better through community empowerment.
The Foundation started with the dream of its Founder, Dr. Andreas Ateke Njoh, who longed to improve the lives of people around him, and he started a scholarship scheme, sponsoring 16 people from primary to university since 2012. This dream grew as he mastered his environment and strengthened leadership skills following the 2024 Mandela Washington Fellowship at Wayne State University, Detroit. Andreas extended his focus to improving livelihood in his local communities in Buea and Yaounde by providing basic needs like safe pipe-born water, electricity, street light, and empowering youths in agriculture and entrepreneurship. The Founder then engaged youths in communities in the South West conflict region in football competitions to build friendships, collaboration, and promote peace.
Andreas Ateke Njoh told his wife
Setting up a foundation by bringing together family, friends, and volunteers would better coordinate resources, population impact, and nation transformation.
Awards
The Founder earned the 2014 Best Physician in Tombel District award, the Spirit of Detroit award, the Paper Bear Wayne State University award, the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders award, and the 2024 recognition of the US Vice President during the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
